We are often asked by growth company equity investors, founders and management teams, “How much debt can be raised, and what are market terms?”

In short...it depends. Within the emerging company market where we focus (<$100m revenue; pre- or early profit), loan terms and structures are diverse. Venture debt terms and availability are not only company- and situation-specific, but also vary widely across lenders (even those of the same makeup).

This is not the world of commercial paper or even leveraged loans where terms tend to be tightly banded.
